affiliate marketing made easy

Subject: JUST RELEASED - A Most Powerful Book on Affiliate
Marketing!

Hi [friends],

I'm so excited about this I almost can't type straight.

You know that all we hear about these days is "affiliate
marketing."

But is affiliate marketing for real, or just the flavor of the
year? Does anybody REALLY make a good income with it?

Just a few days ago, that question was answered with no room for
doubt...

===> AFFILIATE MARKETING IS * VERY * REAL! <===

George Pluss has created what I think is the BEST book I've ever
seen on Affiliate Marketing, Affiliate Payday, and you can learn
more about it here...
http://myprofitweb.com/cgi-bin/x.cgi?a=r&id=54&aid=849&p=10

Resell right and more

If you've been online longer than 2 days, you know that one
of the fastest, easiest ways to generate an income is with
Resell Rights.

Now you can pick up 14 profit-pulling e-Books with Resell
Rights -- for one insanely low price -- and start creating
the kind of income you deserve today.

Imagine the ways you can make money with these products...

* If you have an opt-in list, you could just blast off a
quick e-mail. The response should generate a quick burst of
easy sales.

* Instantly create a backend product line. When someone
buys your main products, you could sell these to them, too.

* Create a simple upsell offer. Let's say someone buys your
47 dollar e-Book. You could offer them one of these
products for an additional profit. (Imagine if you did that
with 100 customers!)

* And so much more!

Sell them for any price you'd like, individually or as a
package. It's up to you. The entire profit (that's 100% of
it!) is yours to keep.

If you've ever wished that you could get your hands on a
product that people truly want and need... something that
sells so well, that all you have to do is drive targeted
traffic to the sales page, and watch the sales pour in...
then you NEED to pick up the Resell Rights to these
products.

Clever idea

It's a fact that scams and fraud abound on the Internet, at
times in places you wouldn't think to look. Not all of your
customers are honest... How much money are YOU losing?

Are affiliate prgrams sensible?

Are Affiliate Programs Sensible?

By Denise Hall (c) 2003

Have you ever wondered how "the big guys" earn so much
money on the internet? Sure, some of them have huge
advertising budgets, which puts small business owners at a
disadvantage.

But some of the biggest names today started out just like
you and me. They had low advertising budgets and fumbled
their way around the internet trying to get visitors to
their websites and sell their products.

Even though they had terrific products, they couldn't sell
them if no one knew about them. They put on their thinking
caps to find the easiest and least expensive way to get
visitors and make sales.

They finally came up with a plan that would benefit not
only them, but others as well. If they could get other
people to promote their products and websites, they could
earn more money.

And so, Affiliate Programs were born! What a concept! A
better way to get visitors to a website and sell more
products!

They offer their visitors the opportunity to "partner" with
them, often for free, to help sell their products. And many
of them offer two-tier affiliate programs.

So if I sign up as an affiliate I can get others to sign up
under me as my sub-affiliates. I earn a commission for
sales I make directly to my customers. But I also earn a
smaller commission for sales that my sub-affiliates make.

It's a winning situation for everyone! The "big guy" made
money because he sold his product. However, he might not
have made that sale if it wasn't for my advertisement. And I
made money because I advertised his products.

The concept of affiliate programs is really not so new. It's
similar to selling cosmetics or other products for many
well-known companies.

For instance, I have no idea how to invent a new cologne,
but I know how to sell it. Therefore, I could sign up as a
representative for a cosmetics company. They, in turn,
would pay me a commission for selling their products.

Why would they do that? Because they can't possibly reach
all the potential customers by themselves.

By becoming an affiliate for someone who knows much more
about computers and digital products than I do, I have the
advantage of selling quality products that I can't create
myself.

And they have the advantage of their affiliates doing some
of the "leg work" for them because they can't possibly reach
all the potential customers in this vast internet world.

The next time you visit a website offering products you
like, check to see if they offer an affiliate program. Even
if you don't wish to place an order for a product at that
time, you can sign up as an affiliate.

In the future when you do order you may be able to use your
own affiliate URL and give yourself the commission. Most
companies allow this procedure.

In the meantime you can let your customers know that you
have new products available, as well as affiliate programs
for them to join. It's a great way to get backend sales.

So there you have it! The reasons for affiliate programs and
why it makes sense for people to sign up. By offering
well-known products on your website or in your ezine you
are in a win-win situation and can potentially earn big
money like the "internet gurus."

5 Reasons Why Certain Newsletters Get *READ*,
Whilst Others Get *TRASHED*!

by Michael Green

============================================================

It's a simple truth...

Some newsletters seem to attract readers like bees to honey -
whilst others seem to struggle to find a marketplace of
accepting and interested subscribers. But why?

What's the big difference between success and failure when it
comes to publishing your own newsletter? And what should you aim
to do, if your goal is to build an army of loyal subscribers?

For the first time ever, acknowledged newsletter expert, Michael
Green, reveals his top five hints for creating your own winning
newsletter or Ezine publication.

===========
#1. CONTENT
===========

If you edit a newsletter and think you can muddle through without
top quality content, then think again!

Let's look at it this way. With so many newsletter titles out
there today - especially on the web - the choice for readers is
almost endless.

Your audience is more subtly aware of the quality of your
editorial, articles and content, than you may think.

So don't skimp when it comes to finding top quality contributions
for your publication. It should be obvious, but great content
matters, perhaps more than ever before.

=========
#2. STYLE
=========

Great newsletters all have one thing in common. They display
style and personality.

Wait a minute...can a newsletter really have a personality?

You bet. In fact, it must have a personality, or it's simply
doomed to fail!

Your readers *really* need to appreciate what your publication
is all about. Which perspective are you approaching your subject
from? Are you light-hearted or serious? Do you display the
traits that can foster trust from your readership?

Don't leave your readers in any doubt about your market position.

Display style and personality in every issue and be sure to
allow your readers to share in your spirit.

=============
#3. FREQUENCY
=============

A big difference between newsletters that get read, and those
that get trashed, is that the good ones are nearly always
published to a regular schedule which is advertised in advance
and understood by their readerships.

So determine a publishing schedule, let it be known, and rigidly
stick to it.

If you want others to take your newsletter or Ezine seriously,
then you need to work your way into your readerships routine.

A regular publishing timetable helps you to achieve this goal
and so "frequency" is an important feature in achieving success
for your newsletter.

But remember, frequency doesn't mean that you have to commit to
publishing every day or every week. It just means that you need
to set a schedule that is fully predictable for your readers.
That could just as easily be quarterly.

===============
#4. CREDIBILITY
===============

Stop and think about any newsletter that you personally happen
to read on a regular basis. Now ask yourself: "What is it that
really makes me read this newsletter?"

The answer is invariably that you believe what's written in it.

That's right. Newsletters that you like, all have a high
"credibility factor".

So be cautious about just allowing anyone to be a guest article
author. Check 'em out first, be comfortable that the knowledge
that they are imparting is really first-class.

One bad article published in YOUR newsletter or Ezine could
destroy YOUR credibility with a reader forever. So thoroughly
vet everything you publish.

=============
#5. INTEGRITY
=============

Perhaps the most important factor in establishing your newsletter
as a trusted source, is your ability to create real integrity for
your publication.

What does this mean?

Well you've probably read newsletters, particularly those on the
web, which forever seem to be pushing some new resource right in
your face. And you know straightaway that there's obviously
something in this for the editor.

Actually, they're probably pushing an affiliate program or some
kind of joint-venture.

Nothing wrong with that of course. But try to avoid turning your
entire newsletter or Ezine into one long relentless advertising
pitch.

I've read a lot of newsletters that start out well for a couple
of issues, but then descend into one long sales spiel by the
third edition.

So follow the FIVE GOLDEN RULES of newsletter success and you'll
soon turn your own publication into a newsletter that gets READ,
not one of the many that gets instantly TRASHED upon arrival.

Good luck with your newsletter or Ezine.

THE NEWSLETTER EXPLOSION
How To Write A Newsletter Without Doing ALL The Hard Work!

By Michael Green

============================================================

Newsletters have become an increasingly popular way to
communicate and it isn’t hard to see why.

Back in the days when printing was the only method of publishing
a newsletter, the rules were different.

The production costs (print & distribution) were high and this
excluded many people from producing their own newsletters.

But with the Internet and Email, the rules have completely
changed...

Nowadays newsletters are incredibly cheap to produce and
distribute over the Net. This fact has led to an explosion in
the number of titles. And whilst it’s impossible to know
precisely, one recent credible estimate said that there are
between 3 and 400,000 newsletter titles published on the web
and via email each month!

OBSCURE INTEREST GROUPS NOW HAVE THEIR OWN NEWSLETTERS
The ultra low cost of producing a newsletter, combined with
the global nature of the Internet, has meant that any band
of people with an obscure minority interest can now viably
publish their own newsletter.

Hence most Internet newsletters have a distribution of less
than a thousand and many have memberships in the low
hundreds or less.

THOUSANDS OF NEW NEWSLETTER EDITORS
But the explosion in newsletter titles has led to a whole
band of first-time newsletter editors.

Many of them are home based. Nearly all of them
under-resourced for the writing task ahead.

So here’s one useful tip that during my lengthy newsletter
editing career, I’ve used successfully many hundreds of times.
I call it:

"How To Write A Newsletter Without Doing ALL The Hard Work"

One of the greatest challenges for any newsletter editor is not
as the job title suggests 'editing', but finding or producing the
content.
Some people view newsletter editors in the same light as magazine
editors. Nice comparison shame it just isn't true!

You see a magazine editor probably has a sub-editor, a
photographer, a picture editor and a number of reporters or
feature writers. They probably still complain that they are badly
under-resourced. But they are not compared with you of course.

So you've got to learn a few shortcuts! Here's one to start with:

CONDUCT AN INTERVIEW AND TAPE IT.
Get hold of a key member of staff, head of the sailing club,
whoever is appropriate to your newsletter. Tell them that you
know that there's an audience out there who would just love to
hear about his/her views and that you're coming down to do an
interview (this can be done over the phone if need be).

Now set your Voice Recorder, Answering Machine or Dictaphone
running and ask the key questions you know your readership is
waiting to hear the answers to.

Remember to ask the open ended questions. Those are the ones
starting with; who, what, why, when, where and how.

Remember you want to keep the content as interesting as
possible. And there’s nothing more interesting to the reader
than hearing about something that answers a problem that they
have. So keep the interview rich in problem solving and
benefits and you can’t go far wrong.

When you've finished the interview off you go with say 20-30
minutes of recording and your job is simply to play it back
and write it out, editing as you go.

Good luck,
Michael Green

How to Find the Best Products on the InternetImage
By jim -jmcsworld@yahoo.com
http://www.1stpromotion.com/pro/?webmaster=marketerjm
If youve ever embarked on a shopping expedition on the Internet, you know its easy to get lost in a sea of look-alike products and copycat offers. The Internet offers everything you could ever want. In fact, it offers about 50 different versions of everything you want.

The problem is, not you or anyone else on the planet has time to sort through all the offers for the best one. That is the beauty of ClickBank storefront websites. ClickBank offers over 11,400 of the Internets best, most in-demand electronically deliverable products. But dont be overwhelmed by the sheer number of products and opportunities ClickBank offers. Everything is appropriately categorized, making it easy to find the products and opportunities you want.

But not all ClickBank storefronts are created equal. These
storefronts are run by affiliates, and most of their parent
companies only allow them to sell about 20% of the
products and services Clickbank offers.

If you want to find the most extensive selection of products, visit a site like http://www.1stpromotion.com/pro?webmaster=marketerjm . 1st Promotion is the only ClickBank Storefront to offer the full line of ClickBank Affiliate Marketplace products, so if you want access to the best selection, that is the place to visit.

With the vastness of the Internet expanding every minute of every day, 1st Promotion strives to continuously make shopping at their ClickBank Storefronts as enjoyable as possible. Their marketplace includes an extensive selection of shopping categories, such as Business-to-Business, Computer and Internet, Fun and Entertainment, Health and Fitness, Home and Family, Marketing and Advertising, Money and Employment, Society and Culture, and Sports and Recreation.

Also, if you are interested in owning your own Internet business, becoming a 1st Promotion affiliate offers top commissions on over 11,400 ClickBank products, and more benefits than all the other ClickBank Storefronts combined.

1stPromotion has also just announced the industry's first search box plug-in which duplicates the abilities of the search box located on the Pro Storefront, and allows webmasters to very simply integrate this capability right into their other existing web sites. This unleashes virtually undiscovered streams of revenue for many of 1stPromotion's members.

Either way, next time you decide to do a little Internet

Does Your Copywriting Trigger What Makes Your Visitors Buy?

    Jeff Baas

You study your website stats and see the amount of traffic coming through. Nice numbers. But when you compare your traffic against your sales, what do you get? A small fraction of 1%? Wouldn't you love to see those conversions grow? But how can you get them to buy?

The secret isn't some magic trick or tool. But your Internet marketing is just shooting into the dark if you don't know the needs that lead people to buy and how to focus your copywriting to tap those needs.

Two main needs drive all people no matter what the demographic: 1) a desire to expand their world and become more than what they are, and 2) a desire for safety. These needs conflict: the desire to grow leads us to head out into the unknown; self-protection leads us to circle the wagons and dig in against unknown dangers.

Each person strikes their own balance between these two contradictory needs. Understanding the way that different personality types balance these needs is the key to effective copywriting for them.

    Methodical Personality Type

The methodical personality type balances strongly toward safety. They need facts, lots of details, to assure themselves that they are making the safest, most logical choice. Make no mistake, methodical personality types decide to buy based on their emotions like everyone else, but they feel a need to back up their desire to buy with sound intellectual arguments.

To get them to buy, your copywriting needs to help them narrow their choices. Avoid giving them too many options. They easily get lost trying to find the best option among a series of equals.

One option to offer, though, is between your plain product at a cheaper price or a more expensive price with lots of additional features. Methodical thinkers are much more likely to choose the more expensive version because it reinforces their image of being a wise shopper. And it changes their decision from deciding between buying or not buying into deciding between buying a more valuable deal or a less expensive offer. But either way, their decision gives you a sale.

Give them solid reasons to buy and buy now. Lead them through your sales process in an easy and non-threatening way. Give them the details they need to make themselves feel that they made a rational decision. They want their purchases to be well-reasoned and risk-free, and want to see themselves as smart shoppers.

    Competitive Personality Type

The competitive personality type is less averse to risk, but still needs to feel that their purchase reaffirms the way they see themselves. They, too, consider facts in making their purchase, but rely more on gut feelings of how well the purchase puts them ahead of where they were.

The key to copywriting for this personality type is to recognize their need to see the way they define themselves reflected in what they buy. Recognize what types of self-images your product reflects and sprinkle your sales copy with words and phrases that help your competitive types see your product reinforce their self-image.

Cast a wide enough net in fitting your product's image to theirs, but don't try to cover every possible self image or you'll get too generic to appeal to any of them.

    Gregarious Personality Type

The gregarious personality type seeks to feel connected to those around them. They are more willing to trust, more willing to venture into the unknown, but are hesitant to assume the full risk until others have proven that the path is safe. They respond especially well to copywriting that shows how your product has benefited others.

Catch their attention by talking about positive results that others have experienced. Testimonials of satisfied customers or pictures that show happy people enjoying your product also are important. Make sure your copywriting provides them with evidence that others have found your product worthwhile. They'll feel more comfortable taking their own risk with it.

    Spontaneous Personality Type

The spontaneous personality type is the most open to exploration. They are the trend-setters, the early adopters, who blaze the trail for everyone else. They will take risks. But not unless you offer to fill the chief need for something better, something that will let them to grow beyond what they are.

Surprise them. Intrigue them with the unexpected and they'll make that leap of faith with you. Present them with the boring old status quo approach and they'll move on to something more intriguing.

Understanding what drives these four different types of customers is essential to copywriting effectively for them. In copywriting, as in clothing, one size most definitely does not fit all.

    Blogging Explained in Simple Terms
    by: Elizabeth Kirwin
By now, if you haven’t heard of Blogging, you must be in a coma, seldom watch or listen to the news, or never use the internet. Bloggers are the newest and most popular ‘authentic’ voice on the internet.

    Blogging Defined

First, let’s begin with an accurate definition of Blogging. Blog is short for Web Log. To blog is to upload text onto the same place on the internet daily, weekly, monthly, or at least with some predictable frequency. The best bloggers are trained professional writers, people who write because it’s their passion, and politically inclined individuals who need a bully pulpit for their ideas. Some bloggers are traveling long distance over an extended period of time, and they want to communicate with family and friends. The traveling bloggers do not have enough time to e-mail everyone – so they blog. Family and friends can check their blog for updates on their whereabouts, their adventures, mishaps, and golden opportunities while they’re on the road.

Is Blog a Noun, Verb, or Adjective?

I have seen Blog used as a noun, verb and adjective. This means blogging is a thing, an active principle, and a way to describe something. If you want to blog (verb) and do it well, the best advice is to blog on a subject you know quite a good deal about. Chances are, most people who blog with a good solid background in their subject area, do not readily run out of good material. Also, people who read blogs (noun) constructed in this way will walk away enriched, educated on a particular subject, and are more likely to return.

Blogging as Gossip or for Profits

As a professional writer and a creative writer, I am enjoying the popularity of the blogger (noun). Why? Because bloggers are bringing back respect for the individual voice in writing. Their popularity is sometimes based upon the depth of their knowledge on a particular subject. Or, as in the case of bloggers who helped reveal the true identity of White House Press Corps gay hustler Jeff Gannon, bloggers can turn a little vicious gossip into an international news story, which I personally find amusing and enlightening. Since bloggers uncovered this scandalous man’s double life, blogging has gained a great deal of attention. In fact, marketing and public relations firms are now using blogging as a tool in their whole package of increasing a client’s media visibility.

    Public Relations and Marketing Blogging

If the Public Relations and Marketing firms gain a stronghold on blogging activities, perhaps the ‘authentic’ individual voice that began the blogging craze will be lost in the rubble. This is the worry of many devoted bloggers. Or, maybe this trend could strengthen the position of political or gossip oriented bloggers. Perhaps the ‘devoted bloggers’ who were working in the restaurant and retail industry, will now find they’re being offered the opportunity to blog for money instead of slave away over a hot grill, or at a cash register.

This is where the whole blogging debate takes over.

    Ethical versus Unethical Blogging

Who actually has the ‘right’ to blog? What does an authentic blogger look and feel and sound like? How do you identify a slick, Public Relations blogger? Should blogging remain in the realm of the individual voice? Or will it be usurped by multinational corporations and governments for their own devious purposes? These are all valid questions, and I’m afraid I do not possess an answer to any of these ethical questions about blogging. I feel that the individual person, company, or entity must answer these questions on their own. But there is one thing I am absolutely certain about. Everyone has a right to blog, just as every one has a right to write and publish their work in the public sphere, which includes the internet.

Link Popularity - Your Key to a Page #1 Listing by Michael Southon

Link Popularity - Your Key to a Page #1 Listing
    by Michael Southon

Last week I was doing a search in Google under
'ezine advertising' and was amazed to find one of my
own websites on the first page of results (position #4
    out of 271,000).

So then I went to Yahoo and got another shock - there it
was again at position #4 out of 274,000 results.

If you're wondering how I did it, the answer is I'm not
    entirely sure.

But my guess is *link popularity*.

    What is link popularity?

Some years ago the major search engines realized that
the best way to decide if your website has valuable
content (and is therefore worth a high ranking) is to
see how many other websites link to your site.

Link popularity was pioneered by Google but has now
become a key factor in the algorithms used by most of
    the major search engines.

Would you like to know your current link popularity?

Here's a free tool that will check your link
popularity in Alltheweb, AltaVista, AOL, Google,
HotBot and MSN. This tool will also compare your link
    popularity with your competitors':
    http://www.marketleap.com/publinkpop/

Now that you know your link popularity, you may be
wondering how you can increase it.

Here are some commonly used strategies - some
    effective and some not:

    ==> FFA Sites

Free For All sites are websites that collect your
email address (and send you a lot of junk email) and in
return allow you to post a link on a website.

FFA sites are rather like a conveyor belt - new links
are constantly being added and old links being pushed
off. On Many FFA sites your link will last an hour or
    two at the most.

Even if your link stayed on an FFA site long enough to be
indexed by a search engine, it is unlikely it would increase
your link popularity. Search engines regard FFA sites as
spam and they'll either ignore your link or penalize your site.

    ==> Link Exchange Programs

As with FFA sites, you need to ask yourself the same
    question the search engines ask.

Did someone link to your site because you have valuable
content? Or did they link to your site as part of a mutual ploy
to artificially raise each other's link popularity?

The search engines know how to tell the difference and
some of them (Google for example) will actually ban
your site for engaging in 'link farming'.

Another problem with this method is *link relevancy*. If
the sites linking to you have content that is not
related to your content, the search engines will not
give much weight to those links.

==> Reciprocal Links with Individual Webmasters

This will definitely increase your link popularity,
especially if you seek out link partners whose
websites share the same theme as yours.

But this approach is time consuming - first you have to
surf around looking for potential link partners, then you
have to email them, then you have to confirm that
they added your link and so on.

    ==> Writing Articles

This is the technique I use for increasing link
popularity and it works very well.

Write short articles of 300 - 800 words and then
submit them to the article announcement lists and the
    online article banks.

There are thousands of webmasters out there who need
free content for their websites and you'll soon find your articles
appearing on dozens, even hundreds, of different websites.

At the bottom of your article is your Resource Box
containing a link to your website. It might look
    something like this:

    --------------------------------------------------------------------------
John Doe is the webmaster of yourdomain.com where he
offers cutting-edge tips on all aspects of web marketing.
To find more advice, tools and resources to help you
succeed in online business, visit: http://www.yourdomain.com
    --------------------------------------------------------------------------

Most webmasters will make the URL in your Resource Box
an active link. If they don't, you should insist on
it because it's part of the deal - they get free
content for their website and you get a free link.

This technique has two important advantages over
other methods of raising link popularity:

    (1) You don't have to clutter up your website with
    reciprocal links

    (2) You don't have to invest huge amounts of time
searching for link partners and then emailing them to
request a link. If they like your article, they just
    add it to their website.

    Happy writing!

    ------------------------------------------------------------
Michael Southon has been writing for the Internet for
over 3 years. He has shown hundreds of webmasters

Earning from PPC Search Engine Affiliate Programs

Earning from PPC Search Engine Affiliate Programs
    by: Jonathon White

    What are PPC Search Engines?

PPC Search Engines are search engines that allow advertisers to list their site within their search results on a pay per click basis. Advertisers bid against other advertisers for the same keywords or phrases. The highest bidder will then have their site ranked #1 in the PPC Search Engine results for a certain keyword followed by the second highest bidder for the same keyword followed by the third highest bidder for the same keyword, etc.

When a visitor then does a search in the PPC Search Engine and clicks on an advertisers bided link, the advertisers account will then get deducted for that click. This only happens once per unique visitor. So if that same visitor clicked on the same advertisers bided link twice, then the advertisers account will only get deducted for the first click.

Why is it easier to earn from PPC Search Engines than other affiliate programs?

PPC Search Engine affiliate programs are a good and easy way to earn some quick cash online. It is a lot easier to earn from PPC Search Engines than most other affiliate programs because you earn from your visitors click-thru’s to an advertisers site and not per action or sale.

Where can I find PPC Search Engines that offer affiliate programs?

There are only a few good resources on the Internet that lists a large amount of PPC Search Engines. Most of these are either outdated where they have a lot of PPC Search Engines that don’t exist anymore or only mainly gives information about a PPC Search Engines advertising offers.

If you were looking to join some PPC Search Engines that offer affiliate programs so that you can earn some quick and easy cash, then a useful resource to use would be http://www.affiliateseeking.com/ppcaff.php.

This is because it lists over 375 PPC Search Engines where you can easily compare what each PPC Search Engines affiliate program has to offer and you can even organize the PPC Search Engines results by Date Added, Minimum Payout, Earnings, etc.

I have joined a PPC Search Engine. How do I go about advertising it so that I can earn from it?

Once you have joined a PPC Search Engine, you can then easily get promotional links/ material from the affiliate section of the PPC Search Engine account where you can then use them to advertise the PPC Search Engine that you have joined.

Most PPC Search Engines allow you to advertise them by using search boxes, an xml feed, text links, referral links, banners, a portal page, and more.

Jonathon White has been doing advertising/ marketing on the Web for over three years. He is the Webmaster of three sites, which are: http://www.affiliateseeking.com - a categorized affiliate programs directory. http://www.simplysearch4it.com - a general web portal where people can play FREE online games, add free articles, search the Web, and much more. http://www.1hostseeking.com - a web hosting directory.

    Articles-fast track to salesand profits

Article Writing & Promotion...Your Fast Track To Sales & Profits.
    by: Thom Reece

Writing articles, and promoting them for publication, is one of the most productive long-term promotional tactics available. Well researched and written articles... which provide valuable, useable information, are highly sought after by newsletter publishers, magazines, ezines, etc.

It is a marketing truth that "Content Is King". Good, keyword rich, content is what drives online traffic through search engines and gives the visitor a reason to keep coming back to a website. This is often referred to as "sticky content". As a traffic-generation tool it is unsurpassed.

Webmasters and publication editors have an insatiable appetite for tightly written "niched" articles that are relevant to their web sites or publications themes.

    This need is your opportunity...

An editor of an ezine, newsletter or magazine has a never-ending need for good content. Each issue they publish must be filled with useful, relevant content that will appeal to their readers or subscribers self-interest. A publication that cannot provide great content will not long survive.

"An editor of an ezine, newsletter or magazine has a never-ending need for good content.

By regularly supplying the media with well written articles, you build a never-ending supply of links and traffic to your own websites.

How?... Well, the secret is in the bio. Each article you submit for publication has your own "authors bio" that gives full attribution and links to your site. This is the payment you receive for having supplied the articles... it is a payment which gives you long-term dividends!

Not only will your article be presented to many thousands of subscribers initially... but those same articles (with your bio and links) will be archived on the publications websites. Those archived articles become fodder for search engines which not only provide on-going traffic to the publishing site... but to YOU as well. It is truly a Win/Win proposition.

    NOT A WRITER?... NO PROBLEM...

There are countless freelance writers who will "ghost write" articles for you and... giving you the copyrights. I know of many well-known names in the industry who have articles plastered all over the internet...and they have never written a word themselves. I know this because I have written some of their articles. :-)

If you need such services try elance or do a Google search for "ghost writing" or "freelance writers". There are many highly educated, english speaking, foreign-based professionals who will write articles for very nominal fees.

OK... YOU HAVE AN ARTICLE... NOW WHAT?

Having a good article is only the first part of the equatiion... now you need to get the articles distributed to those editors and publications who will welcome your contribution... and publish your work.

There are three primary means of promoting your articles:

    • Article Directories
    • Article Announcment Lists
    • Your Internal List
    • Paid Distributiion Services & Software

Here is a breakdown of each... and a list of resources to get you started...

    ARTICLE DIRECTORIES...

Article directories are websites which categorize and archive your articles... and promote them to editors and publishers. Most are free... but some are fee based. They all provide a submission system for you to provide your articles to them. In addition, most have their own internal list of editors and publishers that they announce your new article to.

TIP: The simple act of listing your articles in the directory archives will provide you instant incoming links to your website which could increase your site traffic and page ranks.

Here is a partial list of article directories. (Please note that companies go out of business occasionally and you may run into a link which no longer works.)

    ARTICLE ANNOUNCEMENT LISTS...

Announcement Lists are email newsletters, lists, or ezines, which allow you to "announce" your new articles to thousands of editors and publishers instantly. Most of these announcement lists are sent out daily to their subscribers. This means that you can have your article circulating to key editors and publishers within hours of completion.

Here are a number of important Article Announcement Lists that will give you a simple and fast mechanism for distribution of your articles...

    YOUR INTERNAL, IN-HOUSE, DISTRIBUTION LIST...

Over time you will begin to build a list of editors and publishers, who have used your articles in the past, and find them to be relevant. This list is "your private goldmine". Each time you finish an article the first step you want to take is to send it, in a private mailing, to your in-house user list.

You might want to consider doing a "mail merge" to this list and personalize your submission to the specific editor by name.

Remember, this list could be worth thousand of dollars to you over the coming months and years. Do not treat it lightly. This list is truly a center-of-influence list that you will want to spend time and effort nuturing. Remembering them at holidays and on special occasions, goes a long way to building a profitable relationship.

Pick up a phone and call them. Let them know that you appreciate your relationship... and let them know you are available for special writing assignments. (Here is an example of how strong and beneficial this simple act can be... About two years ago I sent a small holiday gift [a screen-saver of tropical Hawaiian images] to a magazine editor who had used a number of my articles in the past. I waited until the package had time to arrive and then I picked up a phone and called her. She was delighted with the thoughtfulness of the gift and then stunned me with the news that one of her regular columnists had been forced to resign... and "would I be interested in replacing him?". So... that simple telephone call resulted in a regular column in a print magazine that serves one of my niche marketplaces. A marvelous result that may not have happened if I had not "nurtured the relationship".

Ask them "What Articles Do You Need?"... and listen closely to their answers.

By doing so... you will develop a sense of what materials are needed and wanted in your marketplace. Write specifically to those needs and you will develop a strong editorial following that will pay off in huge traffic flow, increased sales and profits, and an enhanced image and reputation. These are pretty hefty benefits for some time spent researching and writing articles!

    PAID DISTRIBUTION SERVICES...

Two recent innovations that have burst on the article marketing scene are: (1)custom distribution software (Article Announcer) and (2) web-based article distribution services (Article Marketer). My experience with these systems are that the web-based service is much more cost efficient, easier to use, and has the built-in advantage of having the most current and up-to-date database of publishers seeking your content.
